SomaTraining 2-3: Global Postural Stretching (GPS) | Online Lecture

€300
Jan 14, 2023
11am to 7pm EST | 8am to 4pm PST

Global Postural Stretching (GPS) is fundamental for exercise prescription in VOYER's paradigm. A perfect compliment to the myofascial stretching with a key difference in looking globally at the fascia for stretching. Whereas the Myofascial Stretching is targeting a specific structure.

GPS continues the fascial exercise education by working within the global link of the body to improve function and alignment.  Additionally, this course will focus on the fascial link with the viscera, giving you many new tools for normalizing particular organs within the abdominal and pelvic regions of the body.

The course is open to trainers, therapists, chiropractors, physiotherapists, athletic trainers, elite performance coaches, and athletes.

*This is the virtual lecture portion. To complete the full class, the live practical must be competed at an approved SomaTraining school.

Learn directly from the master himself. Guy VOYER, DO teaches precise techniques rooted in deep knowledge of fascial relational anatomy and tensegritive biomechanics. Over 40 years of dissections, clinical work, and patient treatments worldwide, prove VOYER's techniques and instruction invaluable. He has successfully treated world-class athletes with the same techniques he teaches today.

Learn exercises used to normalize and enhance athletic performance in the NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB, PGA and UFC.

Course Description

Global Postural Stretching (GPS) is fundamental for exercise prescription in VOYER's paradigm. A perfect compliment to the myofascial stretching with a key difference in looking globally at the fascia for stretching. Whereas the Myofascial Stretching is targeting a specific structure.

GPS continues the fascial exercise education by working within the global link of the body to improve function and alignment.  Additionally, this course will focus on the fascial link with the viscera, giving you many new tools for normalizing particular organs within the abdominal and pelvic regions of the body.

Whatever your methods of pre-season conditioning, training, or re-education, it is necessary to place the body part being solicited, into a global posture. To rediscover the efficiency and fluidity of a movement, the GPS allows a perfect linking between the joint, the muscle and their fasciae. These specific postures must be meticulously performed and are adapted to each part of the body. The positions can be used in training and conditioning as well as in pre-season training. They are equally of indubitable efficiency for all re- education programs.

For example, after an accident or an illness, all therapeutic treatment must be completed by a rehabilitation of all activities of daily life, in the personal life; the sporting life; and the professional life.

There are thus four big stages to follow:
- The first is curative; by the surgeon, doctor, osteopath; or chiropractor according to their methodology.
- The second allows the patient to validate the therapeutic action above by analytic auto- normalization exercises such as myofascial stretching, ELDOA, circulatory or respiratory exercises, proprioception exercises, awareness training, etc
- The third stage brings in global postural exercises to give to the patient a general integration back into daily life, and sporting and professional activities. It is these global postural stretches of the trunk; and upper and lower limbs that are included in the program of the advanced personal trainer.
- The fourth stage is the return to normal activities of the individual in question.

The course is open to trainers, therapists, chiropractors, physiotherapists, athletic trainers, elite performance coaches, and athletes.
